
Project Description
The V710 Ford Custom Right-Side and Left-Side Vehicle Step Welding Line was delivered as a turnkey project for Ford Otosan Yeniköy Plant.
The system is designed for vehicle side step assembly through resistance spot welding and is based on the Siemens S7-1500 series PLC platform. A total of 42 KUKA industrial robots (21 per side) were integrated to ensure stable and repeatable production performance.
The line was engineered to operate at a 75-second cycle time in line with mass production requirements. OBARA spot welding guns and FESTO pneumatic systems were utilized to ensure process reliability.
Digital validation was performed using Siemens Process Simulate prior to on-site commissioning, minimizing risks and optimizing cycle time performance.
The scope included full mechanical and electrical engineering, EPLAN electrical design, FESTO FluidDraw pneumatic design, installation, commissioning, and final acceptance. The project was completed within 1.5 years, designed according to PL-d safety standards, and supported with 24/7 technical assistance during the ramp-up phase.
